"Almost Autumn” is the second in a landscape/journey through the seasons Series. It was inspired by several elements that came together on a mini road trip around Niederkassel, Germany. For example, the far-reaching sky with slightly moody clouds, the hay bales in the wheat fields, and the long straight farm road leading off into the distance. To draw the viewer into the scene, the perspective is exaggerated by widening of the road at the base of the painting. The work is about the joy of seeing, of appreciating our surroundings.
