Carolina

Carolina. This painting is based on a photo taken on a rare November blue sky day. It was bright and sunny and my friends Carolina and Sheila were taking a walk. We were feeling quite invigorated by the pleasant day as well as being in each other’s company. I love this picture of Carolina because the sun was hitting her eyes and creating subtle cast shadows from her hair. I like using a simple colour for the background, something that goes with the painting and the person. This bright orange plays off the blue in her coat and works well with the tones of her skin.
