This painting was inspired by a recent trip to Rye. The day was sensational because the wind was very crisp and the sky, so blue - but not just one colour blue. This little hut is iconic as it is the entrance to Rye Harbour - with its intense red roof, black façade and white boarded up windows, it can be seen for miles on a clear day. I loved how all the colours complimented each other, from the hut to the sky to the waving green grasses and pebble beach.
