Triple Junction page -L3

Triple Junction is the second version this intersection. It is one of my favourite places because there is so much happening; it is a place of contrasts and contradictions. Firstly, there are three modes of transportation (or four if walking is considered): the river Wey canal, the M25 motorway above and in the far distance, on the horizon the train tracks by way of a bridge hence the title. I also like the stillness of the river represented by the barely rippled reflection of the motorway coupled with the heavy concrete presence of the motorway – that above such tranquillity is the business of the M25.  I love this angle as well because there are two vanishing points which draws the eye to the centre and right. The constantly changing graffiti tags is integral to keeping the viewer’s eye moving around the painting.
